The small village of Arcumeggia, a town in the municipality of Casalzuigno perched on the hills of Valcuvia, is (first in Italy) an open-air fresco art gallery. The ancient walls of the precious village preserve twenty-three wall paintings by renowned contemporary painters, from Sassu to Montanari, from Migneco to Salvini, from Usellini to Brindisi. It is the most important painted village in Italy, in relation to the caliber of the artists present and the date of the beginning of the work, 1956.
